The Corporate challenge Golf Tournament will be held June
16th at Grand Cherokee Golf Course. Also known as the
"Dam Tournament," this event showcases the splendor of the
Pensacola Dam with the course at the base of this gigantic
structure. This four-player scramble enables different
companies and organizations to network while having a great
time on the links. Prizes, gifts and tons of laughs make an
atmosphere conducive for making new friends and business
connections.
The 10th annual Art Weedin golf tournament in October
raises the stakes by offering participants the chance to win a
million dollars by making a hole in one on a designated
green. This festive event has become the highlight of the
scenic autumn golfing season around Grand Lake. The
tournament welcomes not only native Lakers, but golf
enthusiasts from all over the south central region. A four-
person scramble, the tournament also includes prize
giveaways, great food, an awards banquet and a silent
auction that benefits the SGLACOC and its members. The
excitement of the Hole-In-One prizes are enough to get
anyone out on the driving range in preparation for the
possibility of doing what every golfer dreams of - dropping
that little white ball in with a one million dollar stroke.
Following a day on the greens, everyone gathers at
Arrowhead Yacht Club for the Tournament Banquet. Dinner,
prize giveaways, lots of laughs and a gigantic auction top off
this memorable event. Even though everything pertaining to
this day is up-scaled, a beginner at golf still has a chance at
winning this handicapped event. At the end
of the day no matter how the ball lies, everyone is a winner
when it comes to the fun enjoyed by all.
